Julie Landry, LPC, RN

Serving individuals, groups, couples, and families from a wide range of ages.
Counseling is about trust, respect, understanding, and human-to-human connection. It is a process where the client(s) and the counselor work together in a cooperative effort to explore and define present life problem situations and behaviors, develop strategies for healthy and adaptive coping skills, and set and work toward goals for improving quality of life - all defined by the client.
The approach to counseling is integrated, using a variety of theoretical methods. Each client is given individual attention. Then, strategies are explored and goals are set. In the case of children, the therapeutic power of play is the best tool with respect to their developmental stage.
The client is a full partner in counseling. Therefore, honesty and effort are essential for the success of the process. In some situations, family, couple, or group sessions may be more helpful for the individual client.
